After a long and tiring journey, there is nothing quite like the feeling of returning home. The familiar sights and sounds, the comforting embrace of loved ones, and the sense of belonging that comes with being in your own space all contribute to a profound sense of relief and peace. Being home in Bulawayo and also Harare was nothing like what I had imagined. It was definitely much needed.
The cozy familiarity of your surroundings, the scent of home-cooked meals wafting through the air, and the softness of your own bed all serve as gentle reminders of the comfort and security that home provides. With the hectic load-shedding schedule in Bulawayo I enjoyed cooking on the fire, helping my Mom with her chickens and visiting my childhood neighbourhood. I caught a glimpse of what the life of a farmer is like. Returning home for some well-deserved rest is not just about physical relaxation; it is also an opportunity to reconnect with oneself and reflect on the experiences that have shaped you.
It is a chance to pause, take a deep breath, and appreciate the simple joys of life that are often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of daily routines. Whether it's spending quality time with family, catching up on sleep, indulging in your favorite hobbies, or simply basking in the tranquility of your own space, returning home for rest is a precious gift that allows you to replenish your energy and face the challenges of the world with renewed vigor and clarity. When was the last time you went home and what always gets you in that space? Is it family, the environment, the nostalgia or it's more than that?
